Be Heavenly Minded

Be Heavenly Minded

We are told in scripture that we shouldn’t be ignorant of Satan’s devices, for ignorance gives him a foothold in our lives. “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11 One of his devices/ploys is to get us to keep looking within at our never ending faults, sins, pain and sickness. He somehow has a way of putting symptoms on us that capture our attention and sap our energy. Soon all we do is talk about them instead of what God says about the situation and our bad confession brings it to pass. Instead of meditating on His word day and night we end up meditating on our sickness.

Knowing Christ within

Knowing Christ within

I have been exploring again the whole area of faith as I believe we need to remind ourselves often of how important faith is. Paul says that without faith it is impossible to please God. I want to be pleasing to God, don’t you?

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

It's Time to Arise

It's Time to Arise

This photo below is one that I took the other evening as I was walking through the bush near my home. It was getting dark, but a beam of light was streaming through a hole in the trees and made a pool of light on the bank next to my path. As I walked past it, my shadow appeared in the light. I had just been declaring that the Church would arise according to Isaiah 60:1-3 and shine in these last days when darkness covered the earth. I believe this was a sign that my prayers were on track and God knew my every thought.

Blood, Fire and Pillars of Smoke

Blood, Fire and Pillars of Smoke

This verse, “Blood, Fire and Pillars of Smoke” has always intrigued me. It’s a verse taken from the Book of Joel and also the Book of Acts about an event before the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord. “ ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ “ Acts 2:17-21

But We See JESUS

But We See JESUS

We humans have 5 senses in which to contact the physical world. They are the senses of seeing, smelling, touching, tasting and hearing. One of the most powerful senses of them all is that of sight. The reason I say this is that in the Garden of Eden, it was sight that caused Eve to originally fall into sin.

“When the woman ‘saw’ that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realised they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” Genesis 3:6-7

“When she SAW that the fruit ..” The power of sight can be used for and against us in this life. God and the Devil both know how powerful our sense of sight is and how it can influence us for both good and evil.
