The Power of Praise: Short Version

The Book of Job says that God speaks to us in dreams.

He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people
as they lie in their beds. He whispers in their ears and terrifies them with warnings. He makes them turn from doing wrong; he keeps them from pride. He protects them from the grave, from crossing over the river of death. Job 33:15-18

I have had some powerful dreams over the years that when heeded have changed the course of my life.

A dream that I want to share with you is about a friend of mine called Judah. In the dream Judah had had a car accident and was now crippled and sitting in a wheel chair. There also seemed to be something wrong with his eyes. This concerned me and I wondered if I should ring him and warn him to be careful on the roads.

I felt the Spirit say that it had another meaning and gave me the interpretation.

It was all to do with my lack of praise. He said that my Praise was sick and I needed attention. The word ‘Judah’ in Hebrew means ‘praise.’ God said that my lack of praise was crippling me and also making me blind to the goodness of God.

It says in the psalms that God lives in our praises.

“But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.” Psalm 22:3

Psalm 8:2 it tells us that our praise makes us strong.

‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants you have ordained strength,’

Jesus quotes the same verse but replaces strength with the word praise.

‘Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?” Matthew 21:16

I felt the Lord say to me that Praise is crucial for these last days, for there would be many things happening that we wouldn’t understand and needed to praise Him anyway. Look at what is now happening all over the earth.

Our lack of praise is making us weak and blind and ineffective witnesses.

I repented and determined to praise God more, even jumping and down with joy by faith. Nehemiah 8:10 says ‘that the Joy of the Lord is my strength.’

I was watching a program on TV called ‘deal or no deal.’ At the end of each show the winners would excitably jump up and down for joy after receiving their big symbolic cheque. The Lord said to me that if they could do that with their winnings how much more should we celebrate all that we have in Christ.

David said “I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure.” Psalm 119:162

Our enthusiasm breaks off the spider webs that Satan tries to wrap around you.

This was one a turning point in my Christian walk. I praised my way out.

The way to come out of your wilderness is to enter into His Gates is by thanking Him for all that He has given to us. Start acknowledging what you have and don’t major on what you don’t have.

Psalm 100:4 says That I will enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

Praise is a powerful weapon that God has given to us in these End Times, don’t let the Devil shut you down and put you in a wheel chair.
