These are indeed perilous times, and for us who study the scriptures, it is not unexpected. Its just happening a lot faster than we thought it would. These must be the days spoken of in the book of Revelation just before the end of the age.
“Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he hath but a short time.” Revelation 12:12
Paul was the greatest of all the Apostles, yet he never walked with Jesus like the other disciples. Jesus had died when Paul got converted on the road to Damascus. You would think that would put him at a disadvantage, yet he had a greater ministry than all of the others. He did the greater works that were spoken of in John 14.
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”
1 Corinthians 9:24
Let’s look at three servants who served great Prophets in the bible. All had the same opportunity to be blessed, all were on the same playing field but only one received the prize. It’s very interesting to note what they did and why only one got the double portion with the other ones missing out.
If your Christianity is hard work and boring, then you are in bondage. But be not discouraged for God has a better way for us all, and that is the way of the Spirit. Have you not read that where the Spirit of God is there is liberty. "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." 2 Corinthians 3:17
