Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom Come

We are all familiar with this prayer, for it’s part of the Lord’s Prayer. The trouble is many Christians just say it by rout and are not even sure what they are really praying about. Do you realise that you are actually asking God to send Heaven down here to the earth? We often ask for love, joy and peace to be here on earth, especially at Christmas time for we sing carols about our desire for “Peace on earth.’ It’s also God’s will that He send victory and healing here on earth. Heaven is full of healing and victory as well as love, joy and peace.

Blood, Fire and Pillars of Smoke

Blood, Fire and Pillars of Smoke

This verse, “Blood, Fire and Pillars of Smoke” has always intrigued me. It’s a verse taken from the Book of Joel and also the Book of Acts about an event before the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord. “ ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ “ Acts 2:17-21

The Power of Praise: Part 2

The Power of Praise: Part 2

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.” Psalm 100:4-5

I felt impressed to recap on the ‘Power of Praise’ as I can’t shake off how important it is. I first experienced the power of praise after reading Merlin Carothers’ book called the ‘Power of Praise,’ before going into the Rhodesian Army in 1974.

If you are tired of the place you are in then start being thankful for what you have already and then as you begin to praise God for this He will bring you into His Courts. The verse above says that thanksgiving is a doorway into the Courts of God. We have so much to be thankful for. God says that we can begin to move forward and enter His gates, and into the land of promise by being thankful. Our destiny is the Holy of Holies, the very Presence of God and the journey starts with a thankful heart.
