In Jesus’ day it was the custom that if a Roman Soldier asked you to help him carry his baggage, you were obligated to carry it for one mile. It was the law, and you could be in big trouble if you refused. Jesus went on to say that, a Christian should offer to carry it for him two miles as a witness. What He was saying was that we should be those who go the extra mile (be generous) not just in this matter but in all things.

The Son of Man
“For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the SON OF MAN.” John 5:26-27
This doesn’t seem right, does it? Jesus has been given authority because He is the Son of Man, surely it should be because He is the Son of God and not the Son of Man? What is so special about Jesus being a man in order for Him to have authority – what is so great about him being a man, even an Angel is better than a man isn’t he?
Bring forth your Strong Arguments
When Jacob returned from Mesopotamia after many years away from home, he heard that his brother Esau was coming towards him with 400 men. He feared the worst, for the last time he had heard from his brother was that he had wanted to kill him for cheating him out of his birthright. Jacob had no way of protecting himself from Esau’s army so he called upon the name of the Lord. He brought forth his strong arguments, pleading with God in prayer. He reminded himself and God of all the things that He had promised him. He had promised that He would make him prosper and multiply his descendants.
The Dew of the Night 2
God has a supernatural dew called the "anointing" that will come upon us as we wait on God in the night. In the Song of Solomon, the Lord says to the Church.
“I sleep, but my heart wakes: [it is] the voice of my beloved that knocks, [saying], Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, [and] my locks with the drops of the night.” Song of Songs 5:2
