The Son of Man

The Son of Man

“For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the SON OF MAN.” John 5:26-27

This doesn’t seem right, does it? Jesus has been given authority because He is the Son of Man, surely it should be because He is the Son of God and not the Son of Man? What is so special about Jesus being a man in order for Him to have authority – what is so great about him being a man, even an Angel is better than a man isn’t it? Man seems to be such a weak, unstable creature, full of faults and hardly able to tie his own shoelaces let alone bind up Satan with authority. Man seems to be just a hunk of meat, a brute beast that is on a path of self-destruction. The Bible gives us clues as to who man really is in Psalm 8:4-6 and confirmed again in Hebrews 2:6-8.

Bitter or Better

Bitter or Better

In these troubled times, we Christians have the opportunity to shine in our finest hour, or we could fail on our mission, it all depends on us.

These are the days spoken of in Isaiah 60:1-3, where great darkness covers the earth, but the Lord says He will arise on us – if we want Him too.

Every day the sun rises upon the earth but it doesn’t shine on every creature. There are a lot who prefer the darkness to the light. When Jesus came to the Jews it says that many did not receive Him even though He was the Light of the World.

Keep Yourself from Idols

Keep Yourself from Idols

“Troubles multiply for those who chase after other gods.” Psalm 16:4

I really feel I should speak on this verse, for I believe many Christians are having more problems than they are meant too have, and its because they worship of idols.

You may say that we don’t do that sort of thing now days for we are civilized and also Christians. The Apostle John said to the Church:

“Little children, keep yourselves from idols.” 1 John 5:21

There are many who may say, “it’s not fair that I live in these days instead of Bible days”. “If I could only see Jesus in the flesh I’d be a far better person.” “If only I could have been one of the Apostles, I’d be such a victorious Christian.” “Why am I born in this century with so much temptation and worldliness Around as it clouds my vision of God?”

Paul wasn’t one of the original Apostles, yet he became one of the greatest without seeing Jesus.
