As we begin 2023, many of us will be disappointed that we are still battling with some of the same old problems we had last year, in fact our situation may have got worse. We need a breakthrough anointing this year.

Sometimes it seems like we are bouncing off a brick wall, going though the same old scenario time and time again. This is not the way things are meant to be, for God wants us to grow in His grace and knowledge, learning and maturing all the time. Proverbs says that our path should be getting brighter and brighter as we get closer to the day of His return. God took the Children of Israel from the place of not enough (Egypt) to the place of barely enough (The Wilderness) and on into the place of more than enough (The Promised Land).

I was born at a very young age in a beautiful part of New Zealand called New Plymouth under the shadow of Mount Taranaki AKA Mt Egmont. On the day I was born my father was away fishing somewhere up the coast leaving my mum all alone and didn’t find out until the end of the day that I had been born. I don’t think mum ever forgave him and even at 80 still mentioned it.

Mum wasn’t expecting a red headed baby and said ‘Oh no I have a wine coloured pram and he won’t match.”

I thought I would revisit an amazing experience that I had back in 1998. I was praying about the ‘double portion’ that I believe is still available in these Last Days. At the time we were staying near Wai-iti Beach in Urenui with some friends. I was crying out to God. “Where is the God of Elijah?” “Where is the Spirit of Elijah and Elisha?” “Where are the miracles of bible days?” I remember reading this verse in Zechariah that spoke of the double portion that is available for those who trust in the Lord.

Did you know there are 206 bones in the human body and when you were born you had 300, but you lost some of them on the way? As a baby grows many of their bones fuse together and become one.

Prayer should be as natural as breathing to a Spirit filled Christian, yer sadly so many of us prefer to hold our breath.

Some only remember to pray at the end of the day after all their energy has gone or only when things start going wrong .
