“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Saviour. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.” Habakkuk 3:17-19
Double for your Trouble
I love the story of Elisha and Elijah, where Elisha asked for a double portion of God’s Spirit from his master Elijah. He got what he asked, for one minute Elisha had nothing and the next minute he had miracles on a regular basis for the rest of his life. Even when he died his bones still had the power to raise the dead.
A Passion for Jesus
God says ‘blessed,’ ‘to be envied’ and ‘highly favoured’ is the man who is keen, excited, and anxious to greet the Lord, watching and waiting for Him daily at His doors. We may not be outside every day running around in circles and crying, but we desperately need to have a passion for Jesus. The question is; “Do we long for Him every day?”
